TRAINING
"We commit to providing progressive leadership for our members, our industries and to be an asset to our communities."
- IUOE, Local 987 Mission Statement
OETIM has been in business as a not-for-profit organization since 1986. At the time of inception our sole responsibility was to deliver training to members of the Operating Engineers, Local 987. These members would be well trained for the construction industry in the area of heavy equipment and safety training. OETIM prides itself on educating and providing highly skilled workers to be job ready, providing them with job requirements and training to enhance their existing skills. We work with employers, and fulfilling their training requests to provide members, dedicated to high quality, personalized training. The institute has developed a solid reputation by employing 987 members who are subject matter experts in the field and using proprietary curriculum developed by members of COEJATC. OETIM is also registered as a Private Vocational Institute to deliver Heavy Equipment Operator training in Manitoba and recognized as an educational training facility with Human Resource and Social Development Canada. OETIM now offers training to the general public and delivers contract training with Manitoba Apprenticeship, University College of the North, Manitoba Metis Federation, etc.
